Check the assumptions behind an LTL quote against the freight you actually plan to tender. Rate Farm won't tell you whether the carrier's price is good — it helps you catch a class, weight, or accessorial mismatch before it becomes a surprise.

A quoted class can legitimately differ from a density-only estimate when the applicable commodity has different classification rules. A mismatch is a reason to verify, not proof that the quote is wrong.

Why this matters

A cheap quote can still be the wrong quote.

An LTL quote is built from assumptions: weight, dimensions, freight class, origin and destination conditions, and requested services. If the freight tendered doesn't match those assumptions, the final invoice can change.

That is why Rate Farm separates "Is this price good?" from "Did we describe the shipment correctly?" The first requires live market and carrier information. The second can often be checked before pickup.

Important: Rate Farm cannot tell you whether a carrier's quoted price is fair, and a difference between the quote and this tool's density estimate does not prove an error. Use the result to decide what to verify with the quoting party before you book.
